Crew is recognized as a Tier 3 Varsity Sport at Briar Woods HS, although it does not receive any financial support from the school system. Briar Woods HS is a member school of VASRA and the Crew Boosters provides a representative for our board seat in the governance of the organization. Briar Woods Crew Club is the nonprofit organization that provides the structure, resources and equipment for the Briar Woods Crew Team.
The Crew Boosters consists of team parents that provide support for the team both at school and during regattas. As your rower becomes more familiar with the sport, you will learn the many different ways to support your rower in their quest for success.
Crew is a sport that relies heavily on volunteer support in order to function at all levels. In providing that support, parents join the family of the oldest scholastic sport in the US and experience first hand the incredible experiences and life lessons the sport provides our rowers.
